Xiang Liqing
Xiang Liqing porte un regard acéré sur les transformations de la Chine contemporaine.
Parmi ses thèmes de prédilection : la ville et son architecture, le contexte social chinois, le rapport entre l’individu et la collectivité...qu’il aborde avec une virtuosité formelle ainsi qu’une ironie cinglante, la photographie restant l’un de ses médiums privilégiés.
La série de photographies monumentales, Rock Never, assemblages numériques d’immeubles collectivistes de la fin des années 1970, a fait le tour du monde.
Xiang Liqing fait partie de la jeune génération d’artistes plasticiens chinois révélée à l’Occident depuis le début des années 2000, découvert en France dans l’exposition Paris – Pékin, à l’Espace Pierre Cardin en 2002.
